We are proud to feature Peggy and Steve Kittelson’s studio, Woodland Designs, as our Featured Artist this month! The Kittelsons’ award winning kaleidoscopes bring light and beauty to the eyes. Since 1986, the couple have been crafting kaleidoscopes that not only bring wonderful patterns and colors to those that peer into their eyepieces but are themselves beautiful to look at.
Woodland Designs has been recognized by the Brewster Society of Kaleidoscopes, an international network of kaleidoscope enthusiasts. Along, with winning several awards for their hand-crafted kaleidoscopes. Their garden pedestal kaleidoscopes feature fused glass art enclosures of beautiful garden scenes. Each enclosure is composed of glass flowers that are hand cut or flame-sculpted and then tacked-fused in a kiln. Once annealed and cooled, they are fused together into a beautiful garden tableaux, eclipsed only by the stunning optical illusions viewed within the kaleidoscope.
